These are the principles that guide every decision we make — from how we build the product to how we treat every host and guest.
Be a Host, Not an Answering Machine
Whatsbnb was born from a painful reality: hosts can't always be available, and repetitive guest questions lead to exhaustion. We exist to fix that — so every guest feels attended to, even when the host can't be there.
When we prioritize features, we ask: "Would this have prevented a missed message?" If yes, it ships first.
Simplicity
Whatsbnb communicates with guests the way a great host would — warm, clear, and on time. Every response we craft feels human and builds trust, never robotic.
When we built our customization panel, we had 6 settings. We scrapped it and shipped a single tone selector — friendly, professional, or casual. A host shouldn't need 6 options to say "welcome."
Hospitality at Scale
Great hosting shouldn't require being glued to your phone. Train your AI once, and it handles guest conversations like a professional receptionist — knowing your property, your tone, and your rules, every time.
A host describes their rules once — "no smoking, check-in at 3pm, WiFi is HomeNet42" — and the AI handles every variation of that question from every guest, forever.
Privacy by Default
Guest conversations are end-to-end encrypted via WhatsApp. We never read, store, or sell message content. Hosts trust us with their guests.
When building our message routing system, we chose not to log guest message content even for debugging. We debug with metadata only — never content.
How We Resolve Disagreements
We disagree openly. Anyone can challenge a decision by asking: "Does this make the host's life easier?" If the answer is unclear, we test it with a real host before deciding. No debate stays open more than 48 hours — we default to whoever owns that area of the product.
